General Flower Care Tips
Daily Care
- Change water every 1–2 days
- Keep vase clean
- Remove leaves below the waterline
Temperature
- Avoid direct sunlight, heaters, and drafts
- Keep flowers cool for longer vase life
Winter Care
- Protect flowers from freezing temperatures
- Keep bouquets wrapped during transportation
- Never leave flowers in a cold vehicle or outdoors
Transporting Flowers in Winter
When transporting flowers in cold weather:
- Wrap bouquets in paper or fabric for insulation
- Avoid exposing blooms directly to wind or snow
- Never leave flowers outside unattended
Once indoors, allow flowers to gradually adjust to room temperature.
Extending Flower Life
As flowers begin to fade, you can still enjoy them longer with proper care:
- Continue refreshing the water
- Remove wilted blooms
- Add flower food when available
- Keep arrangements cool and hydrated
Many flowers, especially roses and hydrangeas, can remain beautiful for several extra days with attentive care.
Vase Cleanliness
Clean water is essential for fresh flowers. If the water becomes cloudy, immediately wash the vase and replace the water.
Bacteria buildup is one of the main reasons flowers wilt prematurely.
Stem Trimming
Upon receiving your bouquet, trim the stems about 2–3 cm at a 45-degree angle. This allows the flowers to absorb water more effectively and keeps them hydrated.
Use sharp scissors or garden shears for a clean cut.
For best results, re-trim the stems every 1–2 days when changing the water.
Temperature & Placement
Keep your flowers in a cool area away from:
- Direct sunlight
- Heat sources
- Radiators or heaters
- Kitchen appliances
- Drafts and sudden temperature changes
Flowers last significantly longer in cooler environments.
