Stem Trimming

Upon receiving your bouquet, be sure to trim the stems about 2-3 cm at a 45-degree angle. This helps the flowers absorb water more effectively and keeps them fresh. Use sharp scissors or garden shears for this.

Water

Place your bouquet in a clean vase filled with room temperature water. Different flower types may have specific water requirements, so make sure to follow any florist recommendations. Change the water every 1-2 days, and check the water level to ensure the stems do not dry out.

Temperature

Keep your bouquet in a cool place, away from direct sunlight, heat, and sources of warmth such as radiators, heaters, or kitchen appliances. This will help the flowers stay fresh longer.

Water Cleanliness

Make sure the vase is always clean. If the water becomes cloudy, wash the vase and change the water. This helps reduce the risk of bacteria buildup, which can speed up wilting.

Care for Different Flower Types

• Roses: Roses prefer clean water, so changing the water frequently is essential. If brown spots appear on the petals, carefully trim them off.
• Tulips: Tulips may grow tall, so cut the stems regularly and change the water to keep them from wilting.
• Hydrangeas: Hydrangeas love water and need to be kept well-hydrated. Trim the stems and place them in water immediately. If the blooms start to wilt, give the stems a fresh cut and place them in water again. To keep the blooms hydrated, you can also soak the entire bouquet in water for a few hours.

Cold Weather Care

During extreme cold, be cautious when transporting or bringing flowers outdoors. Flowers are very sensitive to sudden temperature changes, so they can get damaged in freezing conditions. Avoid exposure to cold air, especially if the bouquet has been in a warm room for a while.

Transporting Flowers in Winter

• If you are transporting a bouquet in cold weather, wrap it in paper or fabric to protect it from the cold.
• Do not let the flowers freeze, and never leave them outside in freezing temperatures. Immediately bring them into a warm space.

Storing Flowers After Their Peak

When the flowers begin to fade, you can extend their life by placing them in a vase with water and adding flower preservatives if available. Over time, they may lose some beauty, but flowers like roses can still bring joy for a while longer.
